Looking for a quick SEO tip on how to improve your search engine ranking?
I have a very important tip on search engine optimization. It applies to any kind of website you have! It helps to improve your overall blog's ranking, increase views to your Etsy shop in search engine results, etc.
Let's begin!
There are 2 versions of the official address to your website.
Compared together, they each will look similar to this:
http://www.example.com
http://example.com
The difference is the "www" part. One link has it and the other omits it.
Search engines actually treat these 2 links as 2 different websites!
The more people who visit a website, the higher it ranks (in search engines). So, if there are 2 addresses for your website---which there are for every site---then you should dedicate to using only 1 link. This way, that one link to your website will rank higher than trying to battle between the ranking of 2 websites---which is how the search engines perceive it. Thus, it will improve your overall ranking in search engines.
Which version of the address should you use?
It is recommended to use the "www" version of your site address. Try to use that version when submitting a link anywhere, when posting on a blog, in directories---even in emails!!---etc.
Please note that I am not referring to the easier-to-type version of a link which simply starts with the "www", like this:
www.example.com
(This is great on printable items, but you should never link to a website online in this format, as it causes problems in most browsers.)
The quick SEO tip is: When posting a link online, always start out the address with http://www
Please keep in mind that this is the way that will help improve your website ranking in search engines.
DO NOT start the link out with only "www".
Use this method for your website address: http://www.example.com
You can read more about the "www" conundrum online. I hope this quick SEO tip will help you---the results may not be seen right away as you start dedicating to use only 1 version of your website address, but as time goes by, it may prove to be beneficial.
